Safety First ! Make Your Diving Fun After.
Dive Crew
Safety is the number 1 priority at Sabas Explorer. Our team members are all trained to provide CPR and basic first-aid. In addition, our boat crew who are all islanders, are very familiar with the surrounding waters, local conditions, hazards and the appropriate procedures for dropping and picking up divers.
Equipment
Our rental dive equipment is regularly serviced to ensure they are in perfect working condition. Even washing of equipment is performed by the dive crew. The air compressors are operated with strict compliance to safe breathing air standards, with filters changed on a regular basis.
Oxygen & First Aid
Proper emergency oxygen and first-aid kits are available at the dive centre. A smaller oxygen unit is also brought on the dive boat for 2-dive trips and to sites located further away. |
Recompression Chamber & Medical Facilities
The local clinic on the island is able to treat minor injuries and illnesses. In case of pressure related emergencies, a speed boat will be ordered to evacuate the diver to the mainland where an ambulance will transfer the diver to the hospital in Mersing for treatment. Should the need be required, the hospital will further transfer the diver to the nearest recompression chamber located in Singapore.
Safety Reminder
All divers of Sabas Explorer are required and reminded to practice all safe diving practices as trained and as laid down by Sabas Explorer house rules. Any diver who jeopardizes the safety of himself, other fellow divers or the dive crew will be prohibited to continue diving with Sabas Explorer. |
